QUESTION: Is a low fat diet necessary for fat loss?
-definitely NOT, we have proven over and over again that our bodies need various fats for optimum function. Especially monounsaturated fats and essential fats
*Is a high fat diet that bad for you?
-definitely NOT, it all depends on the KIND and we must not be afraid of fat. In fact, monounsaturated fats are a fairly good energy source for endurance activities!
*Does it depend on your goals/lifestyle?
-back to customization: if you are really struggling with fat loss, fats (slower digesting) may be an alternative to other energy sources such as complex carbohydrates. Not completely, but adding some almond butter to an apple as a snack is a great option instead of a grain.
Conclusion: Finally, it is safe to say the “low fat” diet has taken its last gasp. Good science prevails!
